MEET SEAN COLLINSON 

Sean Collinson grew up in the Bedford Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, New York, the same neighborhood as Jay Z, where his teenage mother who had him at the age of 14. Sean’s father was killed by gunshot when Sean was just 6 months old. Sean was raised in Brooklyn by his mom and grandmother.

Sean struggled in school and ran with a rough crowd, but he beat the odds and navigated his way out on his determination to grow and excel, and with the belief that all people, including him, can do better.

In his teens, Sean landed a million-dollar recording contract as a rapper with music mogul Clarence Avant through Tabu/Epic Records under the stage name “Kid Flash.” Sean married and had two beautiful daughters whom he has raised and nurtured throughout the years. When the marriage ended badly, with a daunting four-year struggle in family court, Sean experienced the trials and tribulations of the courtroom and divorce process first hand. Recognizing the contentious, expensive, and uncertain nature of the judicial system, Sean discovered the power and effectiveness of mediation when a family law mediator resolved all of his divorce and custody issues in just 72 hours.

Even though Sean has the innate ability to interact and connect with anybody, Sean pursued higher learning and mediation training from Loyola Law School’s “Mediating the Litigated Case” program, Harvard Law School’s (PON) “Harvard Negotiation Initiative Institute,” and the Florida Supreme Court’s Family Mediation Program.
